Discussion Pages: Introduction

The idea behind the COA 1060 Discussion Pages is to provide a place for exchanging ideas, thoughts, questions, and speculations on the material presented in each lecture during the week.

Each Discussion Page will correspond to a different lecture in COA 1060. A new Discussion Page will be started with each lecture. The Discussion Pages will remain open for the duration of the semester.

The goal of the lecture discussions is a place where you can join in a conversation about the questions posed or the issues raised; a forum where you can express your thoughts, share your insights, and read what someone else has to say, as well as ask questions that you may have about something a lecturer said.

Participation is voluntary. However, we would urge you to participate. It will: reinforce what you learned in class; help you understand more of the ideas and concepts; review the material; synthesize the wide range of material covered; and ultimately refine your ability to communicate and put into words ideas, thoughts, and feelings that you have regarding the course material. translation: it'll help you get better grades

We suggest you review the entire discussion (not just the last posting) before you join in. If you have any questions, or suggestions, about the format of these discussions, please email David Parker at gtg060w@mail.gatech.edu

The rules covered in etiquette & guidelines will apply here as well. These Discussion Pages are not places to rant and rave about issues brought up in the lectures or the readings; rather a place to converse and flesh out your responses to the lectures.

Have fun!!
