Lecture. Antoine Predock / September 1 / 7:00pm

Antoine Predock received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Columbia
University. His multi-disciplinary arts background includes having
studied painting with Elaine DeKooning and others as well as having been
co-director of a modern dance company. He opened his Albuquerque office
in1967 and a branch office in Los Angeles in 1989.

Some of his most notable projects include the Las Vegas Central Library
and Discovery Museum (1990), Mandell Weiss Forum/La Jolla Playhouse at
the University of California, San Diego (1991), Museum of Science and
Industry in Tampa, Florida (1995), Center for Integrated Systems at
Stanford University, Palo Alto, California (1995), ArizonaScience Center
in Phoenix (1996), Center for Nanoscale Science and Technology at Rice
University in Houston (1997), the University of California at Santa Cruz
Music Facility (1998) and the Teaching Museum and Art Gallery, Skidmore
College, Saratoga Springs, New York (1999). His most current building is
the the Flint RiverQuarium, located in Albany Georgia. The RiverQuarium
will hold its Grand Opening on Friday, September 3, with activities
planned the entire weekend (Read more about the Flint Riverquarium at

Antoine Predock has won numerous other AIA awards, regional and national,
including another National Honor Award for the Las Vegas Library, the
Chicago Architecture Award in 1992, the Gran Premio Internacional de la
Biennial International de Arquitectura de Buenos Aires in 1989, and the
Rome Prize of the American Academy in Rome in 1985. Rizzoli of New York
has published a handsome monograph of his work (1994), as well as a book
of sketches, Architectural Journeys (1995).
