General guidelines concerning content of pages
We would like to give you as much freedom as possible on coolpac to express your ideas and opinions. However, we also need you to keep in mind that this site is being used within the context of an academic class, and therefore there are some things which are inappropriate. Remember, your IP address will be recorded every time you make changes to cooldaze.
Examples include:
- Use of profanity or vulgar language.
- Sexually-explicit references or images.
- Violent references or images.
- Harrassing, embarassing, or threatening remarks.
- Editing others'pages on the site with malicious intent.
This site is open to the public and we expect it will be visited by many other professionals, professors, researchers, and others. We also plan to use it as a resource in future classes, so keep in mind that what you create reaches far beyond your classmates.
If you have any questions about whether or not something is appropriate for this site, please contact any of the people involved with this class for help.
Enforced Rules
- Do not delete or modify other people's work with malicious intent. If you have accidentally 'destroyed' a page and not sure how to fix it, notify the TAs or the adminstrator immediately.
- Do not lock any pages which are not created by you. If you have accidentally locked the page, please contact the administrator or the TAs ASAP.
- Do not change the title of any pages that are not created by you.
- Use only letters and numbers in all attachments. Do not use spaces or weird characters in your attachment file names.
- Although there is no limit on the number of files you can upload to each page, the maximum size limit for each upload file is 2MB unless otherwise specified. Please make sure your file is within the limit size BEFORE you upload it. Large files might be removed from the system without notice.
- Keep the dimension of any image file within 1024x768. That is about a full screen size in a 17" monitor under regular resolution settings.
- Unless otherwise specified, use only .gif and .jpg format for any images you wish to upload. No photoshop images or any other format that cannot be viewed by a browser.
- If you have accidentally placed a reference of your attachment to a wrong page, remove the reference. If you are not sure how to do so, notify the TAs or the administrator.- When you see an 'Edit conflict' message when you save the page, always check and see if someone had changed the page before you hit the save button again.
- If you have unintended violated any of the above rules, please notify the TAs and the adminstrator immediately so that we get coolpac fixed.
