Post your 3 minute verbal presentation outline for the review here.

• Evidence of progress in the consolidation of the idea: new tracing paper, new perspectives and new model?

• Composition of the board for the Interim review. One 11x17 page with a diagram of the board and what are you going to pinup.

The day of the review we will present: work from ex.5 that informs your ideas so far, the window you initially selected and analyzed (6.1), the variety of initial proposals (6.2) and the strongest idea consolidated and thoroughly analyzed through the 3 filters @ 3 scales (6.3)

Monday 04.07

In class:
. Desk crits

Due:

• At least 9 sheets (11x17) of tracing paper or sketch paper of refined analysis of your idea through the three filters at three scales (one page per filter and scale). These diagrams have to successfully convey what are you analyzing and your elaboration about it. NO WRITTEN IDEAS, ALL DRAWN.

• One perspective from the exterior and one perspective of the interior that show your idea in an attractive way. Pictures with your “proposals” inserted in photoshop are accepted. These perspectives should be very well crafted.

• One model depicting ideas that are looking “stronger” so far. It could be one model with exchangeable pieces to convey different possibilities. Scale: ¾”

Remeber: not only answering the questions posted and finding the connections with the Modern architecture makes this a successful assignment. The clue lies on communicating this ideas through thoughtful, smart and well crafted diagrams. You have beautiful ideas...how can you communicate them successfully?
As we said yesterday, think about producing stacks of tracing paper that could help you trace back you thinking process/observation process...

in what ways does it operates as a skin?

as a boundary?
as protection?
aesthetically or cultural functions?

what kind of skin is it?

thick/thin?
tight/loose?
modular?
multi-layered?

what are the skin qualities?

flexible container?
space of flux (with passing bodies)?
made up w/layers?
mechanically operable?
series of thresholds?
