Just as any good country boy would tell you, one of my favorite sports is fishing. To those who do not believe it is truely a sport, check out ESPN some time at the Bassmaster Tour. At one point I even thought that profesional fishing was what i wanted to do with my life but decided against putting my future to chance. Still I enjoy every moment that im out fishing solo or with friends.

I feel that cheerleading is completly over-looked in the world of sports. Many people blow cheerleading off as "ditzy girls jumping around in skirts", but it requires much more athletic ability than people realize. Now, you're probably thinking, "sure she's just bias because she's a cheerleader", and I would have to agree with you if I were in your place. But I have been on ESPN for cheerleading. If you go an ER at any hospital they will tell you that the majority of injuries coming into the ER for sports injuries come from cheerleading! Just step back at a football game this year and observe the difficulty of the skills we are bringing to the game... and realize that we practice at 6:30 am every Tuesday and Thursday plus weekend practces to be ready to pump up the crowd at football, basketball, and volleyball games this year!

Rock Climbing and Scuba Diving are both great sports with many extremes. Scuba is fun just because you go to some amazing beaches and really can enjoy the waters and rock climbing on the other hand is amazing because of the heights that you can go and really test yourself.
Will Van Gelderen

Basketball is definitely my favorite sport because of the intensity of the game from beginning to end.

soccer is the best sports!

Soccer, is quite simply the world game. It can be played by all nationalities, regardless of language and funds.
Ali Karimi

Soccer is awesome because it is the equalizer of all countries. The US may be one of the leading countries in the world, but our soccer team is nothing compared to many other countries out there, such as Brazil. Its also neat because its recognized by pretty much every country out there.
Ryan Sager

Soccer truly is underappreciated in this country. Outside of the U.S. it brings people together like nothing else can. Whenever the World Cup is played every four years, countries that are usually in conflict with each other put aside their hatred and conflicting beliefs just to watch their countrymen play the beautiful game. It is unfortunate that more things can't bring people together like soccer can. This is what makes the true futbol such an amazing sport.

Paintball in my opinion is the best sport ever. The adrenaline rush you get is just amazing. The National and International events are always covered LIVE. It is THE SAFEST sport with only one recorded death over the course of its life of about 30+ years. It is the 3rd most poplar sport with Football and Baseball taking 1st and 2nd. Strategy and Teamwork are key to success, with a well planned break-out, and position of players, and communication.

This season the Georgia Tech football team will be one of the front runners in the ACC division and a ranked team in the BCS. With QB Taylor Bennett at the helm in his first season as starter he will bring this offense to a point where we havent seen since for the past 4 years. Hopefully, we’ll see more performances like the one against West Virginia in the Gator Bowl. Not only that but we have a Heisman candidate in RB Tashard Choice, the best running back in our division. Along with the offense we have a stellar defense eventhough the NFL draft took our premier LB Kamichael Hall, CB Kenny Scott, and DT Joe Anoi. All I know is that Phillip Wheeler is gonna light some people up!

Georgia Tech’s men’s and women’s lacrosse teams are going to be great this year! Come out watch them play this spring, it’s free, fun, and most of all exciting.
Liam Ainslie

I believe swimming is by far the most amazing yet the most difficult sport! I swam Butterfly in high school and cannot wait to use the gorgeous Georgia Tech pool!
Colleen Creighton

Football is definitely the best sport in the world. That is, organized tackle football is the greatest. However it is rare to play football beyond the high school level because premiere leagues are looking for the biggest and the best players and only a collection of people are lucky enough to make the cuts. So that leaves volleyball as the best playable sport for most people. Volleyball can be played indoors or outdoors, in the sand or on a hard surface, and with anywhere from four to 12 people. However, you may be able to play with as many as 14-16 if you want. This makes volleyball one of the most versatile games around and can be played at almost anytime as long as there is a net. The strategy of the game makes it fun even for those who play at a high skill level. Volleyball is definitely the best sport to play.

It’s going to be tough, but I believe the Atlanta Braves will get into the post season this year, and could possibly end up in the World Series.
Jake Reynolds

I love Baseball. I played as first basemen in high school for four years. I am a big fan of the braves and like Jake Reynolds; I too believe they are going to make an appearance in the post season.
Andrew Harvard

Many people do not understand the true sport behind Paintball, a widely spreading recreational activity in America. There are serious tournaments with well thought-out and organized rules and regulations. It's not actually a woodland sport anymore, but a serious competition. In fact, Georgia Tech has a very serious team and has placed rather well in the events last year.
Eric Balogh

I also still believe in the Braves making the World Series. Not doing as well as they usually do this time of the year, but there is still time. Let’s keep our heads up. Granted Soriano blows games and Andruw Jones has been striking or popping out, but there is still hope.

When one of the most intimidating people in my school system, the infamous Coach Jones (well, infamous in my school system), a middle school P.E. teacher, basketball, and track coach, started endlessly trying to recruit me in 6th grade for high jump, not only was I a little bit freaked out by the man, but highly confused. Sure, I had played soccer before, but I was not what any would call “athletic.” Besides, what is high jump? I had surely never heard of the sport before! I mean, I had heard of baseball, basketball, swimming, and others, but never had I ever heard of high jump! Well, folks, in 8th grade, Coach Jones finally persuaded me and boy am I glad that he did! High jump is a little known sport, but in my opinion one of the best. I was never great at it; in fact, I was never even what you’d call good at the sport. But, high jump is awesome! It is an ultimate test of agility, strength, flexibility, and most of all pinpointed strategy. It is truly a simple sport, no doubt about it, but still a powerful and oddly complex sport. Despite my lack of athletic talent, it was one of the most rewarding experiences and I’m not even sure exactly why.

If you are addicted (or interested) in Scuba Diving and don’t have enough time to go to the Ocean, I may recommend Alabama Blue Water Adventures in Pelham. http://www.divealabama.com/ That place is good enough to get wet for one day trip here at Atlanta area. You just need to have Open Water C-Card. (Visibility around 30~50ft. depends on the time because, a lot of student divers)

They do have complete line of equipments rental service as well.

I've been there 3 times this summer because I'm addicted with SCUBA DIVING!!!
(I'd like to make sure that I'm not related with them... just recommendation! :P)

And if you have all the equipments and don't want spend money, then I recommend Lake Lanier is best choice. (be sure to bring Dive flag!!! with out dive flag, you will get FINE!!!)I usually go to West Bank at the Buford Dam. That's nice place to just get wet as well. Visibility isn't good as Alabama Blue Water (around 10 ft.) however it is good place to practice or maintain your skills from there.

And let me know if anybody interested in Scuba Diving, we may arrange next Scuba trip together. :D

I have a respect for all athletes, but none of them have the skills that a baseball player has. Hit a ball thrown at you at 85+ mph and get back to me.

Tennis is a sport that requires coordination of the entire body working as one. Not only must one focus from the inside out but also have a racket in which the oncoming balls speed can be absorbed and deflected. As the ball leaves the string on can change the trajectory and direction by a combination of body movements.
