The British TV program Top Gear has been a staple for automotive enthusiasts in Britain for the last decade. The show’s founder and star Jeremy Clarkson is blunt and dramatic with a hint of old-fashioned common sense. His reviews of the world’s finest cars occur as he simultaneously power-slides them through the Top Gear facility’s test track. His co-hosts Richard ‘Hamster’ Hammond (popular for his younger appeal and work on other BBC shows) and James May (a fine arts grad turned TV journalist) are forever vexed by Jeremy’s antics. None of them can ever agree on a favorite in any category so British hilarity often ensues. However, when the blokes cease their chatter and it’s time to drive some supercars you’ll be treated to stunning camera work and beautiful visuals that will have you feeling what the hosts feel as they pilot the best cars in the world to high speeds and in Top Gear! Jason Kuykendall 24… simply the only show worth watching! Tyler Phipps TV has gone to the dogs. Shows today no longer have the wit and magic that shows did in the past. With every addition of a newer, more worthless reality TV show, more and more people are straying away from what is known as “good TV” Channels like the Discovery Channel and the History Channel to watch other people’s worthless 15 minutes of fame. What is the purpose of Big Brother? How does one find humor in other peoples pathetic lives? It just makes judging people something acceptable. Teenagers today know about what happened on the last episode of America’s Next Top Model than they do about what is going on it the world, or even their neighborhood. Parents today can no longer put their children in front of the TV without worrying about crude or inappropriate material appearing on the air. So here is some advice. Turn off your TV. Log off You-Tube. Pick up a book or a news-paper and learn something. It will pay off in the future! Farzeen Tejani Monk is an awesome show! I love following Mr. Monk (the OCD detective) and watching him grow. Cynthia Utz Deadliest Catch The only real reality TV show in existence, it chronicles the journey of crab fishermen as they battle the roughest weather, and the most bitter cold to bring home king and snow crab. While crab fishing is a high paying job (upwards of $50,000 for two weeks to a month of work), it is also the most dangerous. 100% of fishermen are injured on the job, and about 90 have died in the last decade. But the show doesn't just talk about crab fishing, it shows the men as they grow throughout the season, and it details the close calls and tragedies which shape their lives. Definitely worth a look, it should be airing next spring. Ryan Schuster Lost saved the television series genre and still after 3 seasons people are in awe of its magnitude. With ABC creating this show there is now a well done drama that is easily accessible to everyone. If you miss the show when it airs, you can watch it on ABC.com the next day. The acting is great, the plot twists and turns, and it just keeps you wanting more. Tyler Anderson I must agree about Deadliest Catch, but Grey’s Anatomy is still my all time favorite. I can’t wait until the new season comes out. Annie McCarthy Man vs. Wild is the best survivor show hands down. We all know this as reality TV so it would be ridiculous to believe that the characters are not in some way aided by the shows crew. I can’t understand how people actually expect Bear Gilles or Les Stroud to be completely thrown out into the unknown without safeguards. Enjoy the show for what you learn and stop criticizing the host for spending a night in a hotel or for being followed by a camera crew. Chris Zajac Link to this Page
