09.12 q and a

Dr. Bowen mentioned he teaches a class about the Construction Industry. Would it be posibble for a cfy undergraduate student like myself to register for this class next semester?

are there any resources that would explain detailed evaluations of each of the individual processes (Project Delivery Model) that result in the material constuction?

One of the characteristics listed for the construction industry in the lecture was that "low levels of capitalization are required to enter the industry." As licensing on the residential side becomes mandatory in 2008 here in GA each builder will have to take a test and have other qualifications in order to get a license to build. While it is easy now for "anyone with a pickup truck" to call themselves a builder, I am hoping that the professional as a whole will become more respected once everyone has to have the same minimal qualifications. Do you believe that one of the points of contention between designers and builders is the "perceived" lack of qualifications based on the relatively easy entry into this market of the less qualified builders? Will this change with residential licensing?
