1060 Research Project Resources

To get started on the Research Project you will first want to gain a basic
understanding of the time period and become familiar with the history and
major events of the era by reading the books on the Overview List:

Introductory Overview List.doc

Then you will want to explore in depth each subject area by consulting the books
and resources found on the Subject Area List. Please note that the majority
of books are located in the Architecture Library on Reserve, however, some of
the resources are located in the main Library on 2East in the Reference section.

Subject Area Research List.doc

The Architecture Photographs List is a compilation of resources of photographs of Georgia Tech buildings, Atlanta buildings & streets, and photos of American historical events, places, and people.

(The Library owns many more books on various subject areas than I have listed
so feel free to dig deeper on a topic to find more sources of information.
Any of the Library staff can show you how to search the Library catalog.
You can also look for historical journal articles using the database
"America: History & Life" which is available through the Library website.
In addition, the Architecture Library holds several architectural, building
and design journals that date back to the 19th century)
